Branding & design agencies in Belfast and Northern Ireland.

An honest guide to the studios doing brand and design work here — who they are, what each one is actually good at, and how to pick the right fit. We run a branding studio ourselves, so we’ve kept this a genuine shortlist rather than an advert: real peers included, described plainly, with Level44 listed as one option among them.

Listed alphabetically. This is a guide, not a ranking, and it’s not exhaustive — directories like Sortlist and Clutch list more. Last reviewed 17 August 2026.

Four things worth checking before you sign.

The best agency for someone else may be the wrong one for you. Fit matters more than any award. Four questions do most of the work of sorting a shortlist.

  1. 01

Match the discipline to the job

A pure identity studio, a digital product team and a full-service marketing agency are not interchangeable. Decide first whether you need a logo and brand system, a website that performs, ongoing marketing, or all three — then shortlist agencies whose day-to-day work actually matches.

  2. 02

    Ask who does the work

In a small studio the people who pitch are usually the people who deliver. In larger ones, senior names win the work and juniors run it. Neither is wrong — but ask directly who you'll be speaking to in week ten, and make sure the answer is someone you trust.

  3. 03

Read the process, not just the portfolio

Nice logos are table stakes. What separates agencies is how they get there: is there real strategy before design, are feedback loops fast, do they explain decisions in plain language? A clear process is the best predictor of a calm project.

  4. 04

    Get honest pricing signals early

Belfast branding projects range widely — a focused identity refresh is a different order of cost from a full rebrand plus website. A good agency will give you an honest range and a scope on the first call rather than a vague 'it depends'. Budget mismatch is the most common reason projects go wrong.

A genuine shortlist of NI branding and design studios.

Each of these does real brand and design work in Northern Ireland, with a different centre of gravity. We’ve noted what each is a strong fit for so you can match them to your brief.

  • Big Motive

    Belfast & Dublin

A service and digital product design studio. Strongest fit if your problem is a complex digital service or app experience rather than a logo, with a stated focus on innovation strategy and design for people and the planet.

  • Eyekiller

    Near Belfast

A digital agency running since 2003, combining web design, development and marketing. A good option when the website and the ongoing digital marketing matter as much as the brand mark.

  • Horrible Brands

    Belfast

A brand, web and UX/UI studio. Publicly recognised — named among the UK's Top 25 agencies for brand positioning and Creative StartUp of the Year NI 2025 — and vocal about moving brands to market quickly.

  • Level44

    That’s usBelfast

That's us. A strategy-led brand, web and AI-visibility studio for founders and growth teams. We sell outcomes over deliverables, work in plain language, and the person you meet in week one does the work in week ten.

  • Whitenoise Studios

    Belfast & Dublin

An award-winning creative studio spanning brand, design, film and animation. Worth a look when motion, video and animation sit at the centre of the brief, not just static identity.

And honestly, where Level44 fits.

We’re a strategy-first studio for founders and growth-stage teams who want brand, website and AI visibility handled together by one small senior team. Strategy before pixels, fast feedback loops, plain language, and respect for the budget.

If your brief is mainly film and animation, or a large complex digital product, one of the studios above may be the sharper fit — and we’ll say so. If it’s a brand and a site that need to earn their keep and be found by both people and AI, that’s the work we do every day.
